We are delighted to have teamed up with Evince Training to offer an Evening of Basic Life Support and First Aid for Babies and Children on 20th October 2016 from 7pm to 9.30pm at The Guide Hall, Ferndown.
Attendees will get a free resuscitation face shield and a Certificate of Attendance and refreshments. (this is not a regulated qualification)
There will be an option to purchase a first aid manual for £2.50, these can be pre ordered or purchased on the night.
Those attending will learn about:
- Basic Life Support for babies and Children
- Dealing with the unconscious casualty (Recovery Position)
- Choking
- Burns and Scalds
- Minor Injuries
- Anaphylaxis – Use of Auto-Injectors
- First Aid Kits
The Trainers
Richard and Diane Newton are both retired police officers with a strong commitment to public service and a passion for teaching, they are both qualified teachers for post compulsory and further/adult education (ages 15+). They both spent 30 years in the police force here in Dorset and retired in 2015. They both have a long history of volunteering, for St John Ambulance, School Associations and School Governors. Diane now volunteers for St Mary’s Church in many roles but most notably as their Safeguarding Officer. Both Diane and Richard have enhanced DBS certificates.
Stuart Garner, is a qualified teacher and highly experienced first aider. Stuart teaches at a Bournemouth school and also volunteers for The British Red Cross. He works for Evince Training as an associate trainer and also works for private medical companies delivering first aid at festivals and events country wide.
