Ferndown Middle School
Ferndown Middle School, where John Thornton was a pupil, caters for children aged 9 to 13 years. A highly successful school with a real sense of community which provides a high standard of education as well as extensive opportunities for all children to engage in. All staff are committed to the development of their teaching and have high expectations for learning, achievement and personal development. Independence is encouraged and resilience and resourcefulness are recognised as key learning attitudes.
The JTYAF allocated funding to the school for the first time in 2011 and has supported many pupils in a whole range of activities.
