The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation was delighted to receive the proceeds of a year of fantastic support from Amberwood House Care Home in Ferndown.

Home Manager, Maggie Tomlin, and Activities Organiser, Karen Mills, presented Linda and Pete Thornton with a ‘BIG’ cheque for £1000! This was the third year that the JTYAF had been chosen as ‘Charity of the Year’ by Amberwood and it takes the total raised for the charity by staff and residents to an incredible £4000.

A whole range of events throughout the year helped to raise valuable funds which included an 007 Gala Night, the commemoration of the ‘Battle of Waterloo,’ a Summer BBQ and even an Antiques Valuation Day. Both the charity and the residents thoroughly enjoyed these events. Great fun was had by all and in the process money was raised for a fantastic local charity.

A huge thank you must go to all the staff and residents for this amazing donation which will make a real difference to the lives of many local young people.
