Badminton Champ to attend World Transplant Games

A local young badminton champion is set to attend the World Transplant Games in Malaga later this year.

In 2015 he attended the event in Argentina and won a gold medal.

Just before Christmas he was selected to represent team GB in Malaga to defend his world title of Number 1 Seed.

“It is the greatest honour to represent my country and I would like to do it as long as I can.”

In 2011 he had a life-saving kidney transplant and is keen to promote organ donation around the world. His team manager commented:

“It is with great excitement I have seen him grow into an amazing young athlete, not only representing his team but now his country. He has gone from strength to strength at the British Transplant Games and this is an amazing opportunity for him to take part in the World Transplant Games. He is an excellent role model to his peers and supports and encourages younger team members at every opportunity.”

We wish him the best of luck in Malaga!
