French and German Fire Cadet Visit
/The Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Cadets Scheme have been awarded funding for the 3rd year running for the European Exchange visit where Dorchester Fire Cadets selected from the recent 20-week course will host French and German Fire Cadets.
The itinerary consists of an evening coastline walk between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Bridport Market, Firewise Demo, a trip to West Bay, ladder climb, Sea Life Centre visit, Monkey World, BBQ and much much more.
The JTYAF has previously funded travel costs for the cadets to travel to Bremen and Cherbourg.
Four cadets were specifically chosen to act as ambassadors as they had demonstrated commitment, a positive attitude and willingness to work hard - Georgia Glynn, Megan Claridge, Finley Taberham-Heys and Callum Dawson.
Working with the Fire and Rescue Service helps young people to develop leadership qualities and team-working skills which are transferable to other areas of their lives.
