In Memory of Dot
/A bench was presented to the residents of Amberwood House Care Home in Ferndown, in memory of a very special resident, Dot Broomfield, who lived at Amberwood for 6 years before sadly passing away earlier this year.
The bench was presented, by her family and Moira McTagget (daughter) read a very moving poem about Dot’s life at Amberwood House. The McTagget family also presented a cheque for £275 to the residents chosen charity, the John Thornton Young Achievers, which was donated in memory of Dot. A glass was raised in honour of Dot followed by tea & cakes.
Linda and Pete Thornton were lucky enough to have met Dot on several occasions and were very touched by this kind gesture in her memory. A legacy which will provide opportunities for local young people, a cause which was very close to Dot's heart.
