John Thornton Music Scholars - Coda Fiddle Orchestra

The JTYAF has supported the Coda Fiddle Orchestra (CFO) for eight years and many talented musicians have now received and benefited from John Thornton Scholarships.  The CFO aims to place children and young people with a poverty of opportunity at its heart, to raise self-esteem, confidence and aspiration through participating in creative music making and working with high quality, experienced musicians.  

The JT Scholarships are awarded to young musicians who have been assessed as showing above average ability and their awards will provide them with one to one music support and violin tuition.

Pete Thornton was delighted to present awards to six violinists at the CFO Christmas Concert at St John’s Church.
