The winning pram - JT Thunderbolt

Thank you to everyone who helped and took part in this year's John Thornton Pram Race!

It was a great event and we can't wait for next year.

Thanks must go to Ferndown Rotary Club for organising Fete on the Field and giving us the opportunity to run the event. Cutler & Co HR Consultants Ltd for sponsoring the fabulous trophies, Sainsbury's Ferndown for donating the winning prize of a £50 Gift Card, M&S Foodhall Ferndown for their donation of 6 bottles of Cava for the winners and to Pete Reed for making so many prams and being such a good sport.

A huge thank you to all the teams who took part, Richie Puttock and his JT's Thunderbolt, The White Heather, Amberwood House, The Mutley Crew, Pete's six prams, Ferndown Upper School, and the JTYAF's very own Desert Rats.

Richie's JT Thunderbolt was the winner of both the Pram Race and the Drag Race - commemorating 10 years since JT was killed in Afghanistan with 40 Commando colours and sporting JT's service number as the number plate. A wonderful tribute to John and very worthy winners.

Massive thanks to all our amazing volunteers who manned our stall and acted as marshals for the race. Simon, Shirley, Lorna, Tracy, Elke, Wendy, Ray, Alan, Sue, Derek, Geraldine, Derith, Daisy, Doug and also the fantastic Bournemouth Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets. We can't thank them all enough. Special thanks to Deputy Mayor of Ferndown, Cllr Jean Read, who kindly started the race and judged the Best Dressed Team and Runner Up and to Ferndown Rotarian George Phillips who presented the prizes.
