JTYAF at the British Beach Polo Championships

The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation was honoured to be chosen as the charity to benefit from the recent British Beach Polo Championships at Sandbanks.

The prestigious event took place over two days and the highlight of each day was the exciting charity race between a Porsche Cayenne and a Polo Pony.  The guests were invited to buy raffle tickets for a fantastic Half Day Driving Experience at Silverstone and with teams of Barclays Community Volunteers selling the tickets the event was a huge success.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers Emma, Sandy, Pam, Becky and Di (L to R above) for their efforts on the Friday and to Chelsea, David, Zoe and Danielle (L to R below) who helped on Saturday, pictured with Gareth and Ellie from the Porsche Centre Bournemouth. . The teams raised a total of £2150 and with the fantastic Barclays fund matching scheme the total raised is an incredible £4150!

To be invited to this exciting and spectacular event was a wonderful opportunity for the charity and to have the support of such a wonderful team from Barclays made it very special. All funds raised will be used to help young people to discover their potential, develop their talents and inspire them to ‘climb as high as they can dream.’
