air show 2015The JTYAF VIP Hospitality Day at the Bournemouth Air Festival 2015 was a roaring success.

As if by divine intervention the heavy rain stopped just in time for the guests to enjoy a fantastic flying programme which included the final Bournemouth flight of the iconic Vulcan. The JTYAF was privileged to see the Vulcan to the Sky Team, Bournemouth together with founder and chief executive Dr Robert Pleming among their guests for this poignant finale.

The exclusive VIP Hospitality Marquee is situated on the beach right at the epicentre of the air and ground displays, so with the best seats in town, superb food and plenty of sunshine it was certainly a day to remember.

An incredible £13,800 was raised on the day and we would like to extend our thanks to all our guests and supporters for their kindness and generosity.  We received a wonderful selection of prints, paintings and visits which included a visit to the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines and Heathrow's Conrol Tower.  These prizes were donated by local artists, organisations and individuals and  formed the basis of  the Silent Auction which raised over £6000.  We must also thank the numerous local businesses and individuals who donated prizes for our raffle which alone raised £1400.

Our lovely team of volunteers from Barclays worked extremely hard at the event, meeting and greeting, selling raffle tickets and organising the Silent Auction.  We are extremely grateful to Di Trott, Liz Marsh, Nina Selvey, and Lesley O'Brien for their continued support and also Barclays for their generous matched funding scheme which makes a huge difference to the total figure raised on the day.

Our guests were delighted to have the opportunity to meet some of the display teams who we would like to thank for taking valuable time out of their busy schedules to come and join us in the marquee.  A special thank you must got to the Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team who have been great supporters of the charity this year.
