JTYAF Supports DofE Set up at Atlantic Academy

The JTYAF was delighted to support a group project with an award of £1700 to help to set up a Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre at Atlantic Academy on the Isle of Portland.

The Isle of Portland is the third most deprived area in the UK and young people have a limited number of opportunities available to them.  The benefits of taking part in the DofE are huge and we are delighted to support the set up of the scheme, with tents, stoves and equipment kits.  The pilot year will offer the opportunity to a small group of 7 young people, and we hope to see larger numbers taking part in future years.
