The JTYAF has recently providing funding to support a Young Leaders Training Scheme for East Dorset District Scouts - Explorer Section and also a District Patrol Leaders Training Course for the Scout Section.

The Patrol Leaders Course will provide eighteen young people aged 12-14 years with the skills necessary to manage their patrol and assist the leader in the running of the Troop. They will learn how to plan programmes and games, manage challenging behaviour, represent the views of others and be encouraged to develop their own leadership style.

The Young Leaders Training Scheme will benefit twenty-five young people who will complete eleven modules and four missions. The course is designed to enable young leaders to work effectively in the section they choose, accepting responsibility and developing leadership skills.

The JTYAF is delighted to support leadership training for East Dorset Scouts and Pete and Linda Thornton were honoured to be invited to a formal dinner to meet the Scouts taking part in the Patrol Leaders Course.
