Moonlands 2016 trek for Budmouth College student
/As part of his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, a student from Budmouth College has been supported in an expedition to Ladakh and Zanskar on the Tibetan Plateau organised by the Dorset Expeditionary Society in July 2016.
The week long trek will allow the team to:
- Raft through the headwaters of the Indus River
- Trek across the Moondlands of the Karakoram Range
- Mountain bike several high altitude routes to the Chinese border
- Complete a crossing of the Greater Himalaya
To ensure he achieves his place on the team, he needs to raise £2,800 and has organised a sponsored walk from Portland Bill to Hardy's Monument and back.
We wish him the best of luck on the trek in July, and we hope he achieves his dream of joining the Royal Navy after completing his studies.
