Paul's Cracking Curry Night Raises Amost £800!!
/Paul’s a bit of a fundraising pro now and his 5th Curry Night raised an incredible £786!! Most importantly it was a truly fabulous evening and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Tickets were sold out for the Cinnamon Lounge in Ferndown, and guests were treated to a wonderful range of super delicious Indian Haute cuisine. Alam and his dedicated team couldn’t have looked after us any better and with Paul as the host it was a brilliant event.
Huge thanks must go to all those who supported this popular evening. Paul’s friends and family were out in force, together with a great group from Ferndown Rotary Club, and another from Bournemouth Sea Cadets. Not forgetting of course the friends of Linda and Pete and the JTYAF.
Alam kindly donated a percentage of each ticket price to the charity and we were totally overwhelmed by the success of the raffle and auction, which raised a whopping £505. Testament to the kindness and generosity of the guests.
Auction items included a huge ham from Wessex County Gammons, a hedge trimmer from Hunt Forest Group, Blashford, a pamper voucher from Beauty Above, plus donations of whisky, gin, beer and bubbles from the guests. Morrisons Verwood and Tesco Ferndown provided a couple of fabulous hampers and a framed picture of the QE2, Concord and the Red Arrows created a lot of interest and was kindly donated by Ian Vincent.
We can’t thank Paul, Alam and all those who donated and supported the event enough. Without the kind support of local business and the community the JTYAF would not be able to continue to do the fantastic work it does. The Foundation has been investing in young futures since 2008, helping young people to achieve their ambitions and potential, by providing them with opportunities that they would not otherwise have access to.
We hope that Paul will organise a 6th Curry Night next year and tickets are red hot! Watch this space if you don’t want to be disappointed.
