This years Run Bournemouth saw Team JTYAF out in force with 14 runners!

Will and Chris took on the Half Marathon both achieving PB’s, the Ferndown Upper School Pastoral Team ran the Supernova 5K and Liam, Sophie and Isabelle took part in the Junior 2K. Huge thanks to all our runners for such amazing support of John’s Foundation.

For many of our runners this was their first ever event and they had many different reasons for choosing the JTYAF as their charity of support. Here at the JTYAF we can’t thank them all enough as the current fundraising total stands at more than £1600! Huge thanks to all the friends and family for their generosity and support.

Chris was a good friend of Johns and the whole family are great supporters of John’s Foundation. Angie completed the Bournemouth Marathon for the JTYAF 7 years ago, and this year Chris and his daughters were on the team. Chris achieved a PB of 1.37 which was an incredible effort and together with Isabelle and Sophie he has raised more than £750! A fabulous fundraising achievement and hopefully it will ease the pain of his blisters.

Will has already signed up for the Half Marathon in 2023 and is determined to achieve a sub 1.30 time. He did amazingly well this year, but unfortunately suffered with severe cramps with less than 3K to go. He has been busy fundraising too and has raised over £400 single handed! Well done Will.

Liam joined Sophie and Isabelle for the Junior 2K being recruited from Bournemouth Sea Cadets, one of the JTYAF organisations of support. He’s a very keen runner and it was great to have him on the team. Liam has achieved over £100 in sponsorship and we pass on our thanks to his friends and family for supporting him so generously.

The Ferndown Upper School Pastoral Team ran in the Supernova 5K and obviously thoroughly enjoyed the event. The JTYAF was delighted to receive such amazing support and it was great to see the team in their yellow t-shirts ready to go the distance on the day. A huge thank you to them all for raising over £350 in sponsorship.
