Sailing Adventures with the Tall Ships Youth Trust

The JTYAF is supporting 10 young people from St Michael's Middle School to take part in a sailing adventure with the Tall Ships Youth Trust.  They will start and finish in Portsmouth and weather permitting reach the Channel Islands. 

As well as learning to sail, they will be fully integrated into the crew, responsible for running the vessel 24/7 which includes learning to navigate and read charts, as well as assisting in the galley and helping to maintain the vessel.

This unique learning experience will give them confidence in themselves. They will learn how to take on a challenge and overcome hurdles, take on new responsibilities and hopefully leave with a passion for sailing.
