A dedicated member of the 7 Overseas (Jersey) Squadron Air Cadets is due to take part in a sail training expedition in Scotland.
She hopes the challenge will enhance her confidence and leadership skills, and become a role model for the younger female cadets in the Squadron.
It will form part of her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award for the residential section.

The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) was set up in memory of John Thornton who was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008.
The JTYAF provides opportunities for young people to help them to develop as individuals and fulfil their ambitions in life as John was able to do.
