Snowdonia and Isreal: Travel Awards for 2 Air Cadets

Snowdonia trip for local Air Cadet

A local Air Cadet from 171 Squadron (Christchurch) has been awarded a grant to help towards achieving his bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

As part of the bronze DoE award, participants need to take part in 2 expeditions, one of which he has chosen to climb Snowdonia.

He has already gained his Leading Cadet qualification and has raised over £130 by doing odd jobs.

Isreal Air Cadet Exchange

A Cadet Flight Sergeant from 992 Squadron (Malmesbury) has been awarded a grant to attend the International Air Cadet Exchange in Isreal.

The Annual International Air Cadet Exchange brings Cadets together from over 20 different countries giving 500 young people the opportunity to expand their horizons, experience different cultures and make life-long friendships.

He has previously raised over £500 as part of a 300 sponsored bike ride in aid of the JTYAF and hopes to gain a commission as a Royal Marine Officer on completion of his formal studies.
