Solo Dress for the Irish Dancing World Championships

A 13 year old student from Ferndown Upper School will be travelling to Dublin in April 2025 to take part in the Irish Dancing World Championships.

This talented young lady started Irish Dancing 6 years ago and to achieve a place at the World Championships she has achieved First Place in 21 dances, competing at a very high level against many talented dancers.

Our young award winner is the first ever dancer from Ferndown Upper School, to qualify as a solo Irish Dancer on the world stage.

The costume dress required to compete at this level is extremely expensive and the JTYAF has made it possible for this young dancer to look forward to starting her World Championships journey with a costume that will last her many years. The dresses are made with extra fabric to allow for the dancers to grow.

Our award winner has ambitions to become an Irish Dance teacher and has already completed 5 of the gradings required. She also aims to audition for Lord of the Dance, so we may well see her on tour with Riverdance one day!

We wish her every success and look forward to hearing all about the competition.
