Tall Ships Adventure

On the 19th October, amidst the trickiest of times, a group of previous Year 8 pupils from St Michael's Middle School, set sail on the voyage of a lifetime with the Tall Ships Youth Trust thanks to the JTYAF

We received a lovely thank you card from the students which included the following comments:-

"I enjoyed every minute of the Tall Ships trip, thank you so much for this opportunity! I learnt about teamwork and leadership.  It was an unforgettable experience.  Thank you." HH

"....The trip not only boosted my confidence but has also inspired me to always try new things when given the opportunity.  My favourite bits were making food-come dine with me and climbing the mast (to the top) something I thought I would never do!  Thank you again."  E

“…I am writing this to say thank you for helping to fund my trip and for the amazing experience and enjoyment that I had. I learnt so many new skills such as how to navigate, tie knots, hoist sales, use winches and steer the boat…..This trip has given me inspiration for my future and it has boosted my confidence to do something with boats in later life. I would definitely recommend this trip to my friends and I will definitely want to do this again because I had so much fun. My Skipper, Sue, has recommended me for a volunteering roll as assistant watch-leader in the future, which I am very excited for. Thanks again.” T
