The Urban Rebuild Project in South Africa

A group from St Paul’s Church in Throop have been awarded a grant to fund a trip for 11 young people to South Africa.

In July this year, the group will travel to a Soweto township where they will work with the Urban Rebuild Project to build 2 houses, run a children’s club and help at an AIDS clinic in the community.

The group has spent the past 14 months fundraising for the trip including a New Year’s Supper, ploughman’s supper, talent event, Mother’s Day cream tea, car washing, a Eurovision event and a barn dance.  They’ve raised over £7000 so far towards the trip.
