Vintage Afternoon Tea with the Land Girls - Huge Community Effort
/The JTYAF Vintage Afternoon Tea with the fabulous Land Girls, raised an amazing £1504! The Land Girls were, as always, outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their performance and there was lots of flag waving and even a conga line at one point. They made the afternoon very special indeed.
The whole community came together to support the JTYAF which was absolutely incredible. We received donations for the tea from Rodda’s Cornish Clotted cream and jam, Tremains Tea Hut 9 freshly baked delicious cakes, Asda Poole sandwich fillings spread, cheese, ham, milk, cucumbers, cress Asda Bournemouth scones, Asda Castlepoint fairy cakes, Tesco Ferndown bread and gluten free goodies, Lakie Hill Farm eggs and Dorset Tea tea.
These donations meant that almost all of the money raised would be able to benefit young people. Without our fabulous team of volunteers however, none of this would have been possible.
During the day 26 people leant a hand. Liz and her amazing team of volunteers from the Barrington Centre together with the JTYAF volunteers were all crucial to making the event happen. Special thanks, must go to Jan for providing her beautiful China, and to Judy and Terry, Lesley and Karen, for raising £604 on the raffle alone! Thanks to Boots Ferndown, Wimborne Model Town, Connells and Donaldson & Ross for their generous donations of prizes.
Vikki pictured below not only provided all the sandwich fillings etc from Asda Poole but she also gave up her entire Saturday to help before and after the event. Huge thanks to Vikki.
A big thank you must also go to the Air Cadets from 2358 (Ferndown) Squadron who provided help putting out tables and chairs for 100 guests, so that the venue could be ready on time.
This event was only possible because of all this fantastic support. The JTYAF is quite honestly humbled by the kindness and generosity of our friends and supporters.
We had a lovely afternoon and we must pass on a huge thank you to our guests. Thank you for helping the JTYAF to continue its great work with young people in our community.
