Wimborne Rotary Gala Dinner Raises £15,000 for Charity!
/Bob Wilson, Sportsman and TV Presenter, was the guest of honour at a Gala Charity Night organised by the Rotary Club of Wimborne, on Friday 24 March at the Marriott Highcliffe Hotel. The event was a huge success and £14,500 was raised for three good causes.
Bob was a captivating speaker. He talked about his life playing and commentating on football together with his work as a BBC sports presenter which was totally fascinating. The evening included a three course meal which was also outstanding, so all in all a great night to remember.
Our thanks must go to Wimborne Rotary Club for their fantastic support with this event. £14,500 is an incredible amount to raise in one evening and we don't underestimate the amount of time and effort that went into ensuring that this was such a successful event. Thanks must also go to Bob, the main man, who provided an extremely entertaining evening for the guests.
The auction was supported by many local businesses and the JTYAF would particularly like to thank the Porsche Centre Bournemouth, who donated a Half Day Porsche Driving Experience and Ferndown Golf Club who kindly donated a Four Ball.
