Winter Awards at Ferndown Upper School
/The JTYAF were delighted to award 2 scholarships and 4 bursaries to Ferndown Upper School students at the end of last year. Forty four students were able to benefit from JTYAF funding in 2021 and the quality or the applications was outstanding.

The JTYAF is helping with expenses for a once in a lifetime opportunity for a talented young cheerleader. Her team has won a place at ‘The Summit,’ an international cheer leading competition in Florida and the trip includes training at the world leading ‘Top Gun’ cheer leading facility. The event will provide the team with an international ranking and it’s a fantastic opportunity for our award winner to develop her talents and progress her career. We look forward to hearing about her experiences.
A member of the Bournemouth Youth Marching Band, who has ambitions to join the Army or Royal Marines Music Corp, has received a scholarship to purchase his own instrument. We wish him every success for his future career as a musician.
Bursaries were awarded to two students who are taking part in the World Challenge Expedition to Tanzania in the Summer 2022, where they will be involved in a community based project to help provide support for the communities that they visit. Another student is using her bursary to fund an online DJ Course so that she can develop a career which will work around her studies. A young man with ambitions in Karting has also received a bursary to contribute towards his licence and kit.
