The JTYAF recently visited the new Beaucroft College Cafe in Wimborne and what a treat it was. A fabulous menu which included paninis, toasted sandwiches and jacket potatoes and arguably the best coffee in town. Beaucroft also makes exceedingly good cakes!

JTYAF funding had provided the students with an all singing, all dancing, new till. The picture screen allows the students to be more independent in taking customer orders, and completing transactions. In this fabulous community setting the students are developing their customer facing skills, enhancing their numeracy and IT skills and providing local people with a superb new cafe.

Feedback from the students has been really positive and they love using the till, in particular, using the visual facility to select the correct item.

Profits from the new café also help to provide extra school funds, but the main benefit is obviously the real life work experience and opportunities made possible for the students.
