JTYAF at the Dorset Plane Pull

We had two teams for this year’s Dorset Plane Pull and they pulled a Boeing 737 weighing in at 35,500Kg 50 metres against the clock, battling it out against 35 other teams too.

Stig’s Team 2019

Stig’s Team were no strangers to the event and have supported the JTYAF at the Plane Pull for 10 of the 11 year’s it has been running. Stig and his friends from the White Heather, Ferndown, teamed up with our friends at Go Ape, Moors Valley, Ferndown Strollers Cricket Club and Eco Bournemouth, who also kindly sponsored the Stig’s Team t-shirts.. In the sweltering mid-day heat they achieved an amazing 41.23 seconds and were placed 14th out of 36 - a brilliant result!

The Saxon Strainers

The Saxon Strainers

Saxon Strainers, from the Saxon Bar in Christchurch were new comers to the event but they made 50 metres in 42.38 seconds and achieved 18th place. A remarkable result for these first timers who said they ‘Will be Back’ next year!

We are extremely grateful to all the team members but a special thank you must go to Stig and Leigh, the Manager at the White Heather Ferndown, Chris and his team from Go Ape, Moors Valley and Lee, the Manager at the Saxon Bar in Christchurch. They put a lot of effort into organising the teams and also into their fundraising support of John’s Foundation. We can’t thank them enough.
