The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) is proud to announce a venture in partnership with Wimborne Rotary that will benefit Young Achievers from the local Dorset Area.

This exciting scheme will start in January 2020 and support a nominated local young person.  The scheme will run for the next four years and each annual award winner will receive a £500 bursary, funded by Wimborne Rotary.

The JTYAF has been asked to compile a shortlist of JTYAF Award Winners, between the ages of 8 and 16 years old, who received awards in 2019. In January the winner of the Young Achievers Award will be selected from the nominated youngsters by Wimborne Rotary and they will be awarded the bursary of £500.

The award aims to provide the selected young person with the opportunity to further their personal development in their chosen field. Wimborne Rotary are passionate about helping local youngsters to follow their dreams and are delighted to team up with the JTYAF who totally shares this ethos.

Wimborne Rotary President Neil Hutchinson said, “These Awards will make a big difference to the development of local youngsters. There are some brilliant youngsters out there who only need that little bit of help to enable them to develop their talents.”

Pete Thornton, Chair of the JTYAF said “We are delighted to be working with Wimborne Rotary on this scheme. Their aims, and ours, is to help young people to ‘Climb as High as They Can Dream’.”
