A scholarship was awarded to a talented 13-year-old from Ferndown Upper School who has been selected for Team GB to compete in the World Martial Arts Games in Florida in July.

The JTYAF was delighted to help to get things started for a Junior Table Tennis Club by funding the hall hire for one year. This ensures that children can take part regardless of financial constraints at home.

The JTYAF has supported 3 young people from Bournemouth Sea Cadets in recent months.  Two Cadets will be taking part in an Off-Shore Sailing Course and another an Off-shore Power Boat Course.

A 16 year old musician from Christchurch Scouts has received a bursary to support her attendance for a week at the National Scout and Guide Youth Symphony Orchestra in Birmingham.

A 15 year old Air Cadet from 149 (Poole) Squadron who aims for a career in Air Traffic Control has been awarded a bursary from the JTYAF to further his ambitions.

A 15 year old musician seeking to go to the next level as an oboeist has received a bursary from the JTYAF to contribute towards the cost of a new instrument.

A student at Ferndown Upper School who is a talented pianist recently received a bursary to cover the cost of piano lessons and grading exams to support his development as a musician.

A 15 year old student at Wey Valley Academy has recently sent us a report about his expedition to the Quantocks for his Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award.

The JTYAF has been supporting students at Beaucroft Foundation School for 12 years providing funding which has enabled the school to offer opportunities for exciting and meaningful experiences for their young people.

We were thrilled to receive feedback from a young man who is a student at Ferndown Uppoer School and was awarded a bursary to pay for race fees and help with the cleaning and maintenance of his Enduro Bike.

The JTYAF is delighted to contribute towards the transport costs for 40 cadets from 878 Squadron Air Training Corps, to travel to Achiet le Grand in the Somme.

The JTYAF has recently supported East Dorset Scouts with funding to buy a new marquee for their scouting nights away. The new mess tent will provide a larger area for cooking and eating and provide a space for activities at night and in rainy weather.

Exercise Mountain Storm 2023 will take place in Banff, Canada, in August this year. This incredible two week trip with the Air Cadets, involveds a six day wilderness expedition and a whole range of outdoor adventure activities, including white water rafting.
